Fabulous heritage home in the heart of downtown Chase - built in 1908 with much of the original charm preserved. Presently home to a ladies consignment clothing store on the main floor with newly created living quarters up or could be two suites - 5 mins to lake and golfing. Many upgrades since 2005 to include roofing, wiring and plumbing. C2 zoning and the building configuration offers several options for use - come take a look to see how it could work for you.
The additional bonus is that this property is located approx 5 minutes from Little Shuswap Lake and The Sunshore Golf Course.
From David Lepsoe's 30 minute Historic Walking Tour of Downtown Chase:
James A Magee purchased this property from the Adams River Lumber Comany on July 16, 1908. Magee moved from Seattle when the mill started sawing early in 1908 and was the first General Manager of the Lumber Company. He supervised the construction of the mill as well as the layout of the town site. The home of Mr and Mrs Magee and daughter was one of the first homes built.
It was said that it was Magee who turned down the suggestion that the town be named after him and suggested it be named for the first settler, Whitfield Chase.
